Building A Career On Campus

There are many students who prefer to stay back at the Campus during the holidays. Such students can easily get a job in the Campus and stay independently. Of course there are many jobs available outside the Campus but how about doing something that is more campus - oriented and enriching?

Working On Campus:

Just because the school remains off during the summer time, does not mean that the Campus closes down. Most of the schools/ colleges have lots of job openings. You can work in the library, photo darkroom, radio station, video equipment rental and other specific school departments.

You can choose what type of job you would like to do. For example, if conducting tours interests you then you can work with the Admissions office for conducting tours during the holidays. The job profile would include conducting campus tours for prospective students, answering phone calls and emails, filing applications, data entry, assisting in mass mailings, and helping with Admissions events like Open Houses and Spring Preview for early accepted high school seniors.

Many schools/ colleges also reserves dorm rooms for the students who stay back during the holidays to work on Campus.

Working on Campus helps the students in various ways. Although it’s not the strict and well defined job type, yet it gives the students an opportunity to come in terms with the life after school. It makes the students more responsible and accountable. It’s a great learning experience. The best part of working on Campus is that, you are already a part of the institution, so people know you and you get a comfortable and healthy working environment.
