Anxiety in students is a common phenomenon among students at present. The researchers have found a number of reasons behind the occurrence of this disease. They believe that anxiety is mostly biological and is due to the lack or disorder to certain hormones in the brain. It may also be due to genetic reasons. Whatever be the cause, there are a number of symptoms of anxiety in students. Some of them are the following:

Panic Symptoms: There may be some recurrent occurrences of panic attacks. This is characterized by constant worry of the attack. This may last for a period of one month or may even continue for 10 minutes and stop. It is associated with palpitation, sweating, nausea, chest pain and dizziness. There is a feeling of being detached from the world and even dying. A student may suffer from numbness or tingling and sometimes he/ she becomes unable to think.

Restlessness and tiredness: The students who suffer from anxiety disorder are prone to become restless in a short period of time. They cannot concentrate on a work for long and easily gets tired. They also face problem in concentrating and are easily irritated. There is a muscle tension and students often become insomniac if the anxiety is not checked in right time.

Phobic Disorders: Phobic disorders are common in people who have a constant fear of venomous species of animals like snake, spider or even fearful situations like height, public places and group of people. The exposure to any of these things may trigger a panic attack. When a student suddenly sees a snake he is repelled by it. Moreover, students who suffer from blood phobia are prone to attacks on exposure to bleeding sites, both on television and in reality.

Stress disorders: This may happen due to exposure to fire, flood and earthquakes. This may also be due to an exposure to incidences such as sexual abuse and exposure to inappropriate materials.
